The following is a comprehensive list of scholarships that are currently available to A.C. Jones students. Please be advised that the list is updated frequently. We recommend that you make an appointment to review your scholarship options with the JBSP team. Please stop by the office or contact Mrs. DeLaRosa at bdelarosa@beevilleisd.net.
NHS Scholarship
Award Amount: Varies
Eligibility:
High school seniors
Must be a current member of NHS
Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university
Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards
Award Amount: Varies
Eligibility:
Be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2025
Must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale
Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2025-2026
Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines)
If selected, attendance to virtual regional awards ceremony is mandatory

Matthew Jimenez Memorial Scholarship

Must plan to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement

Mary Laughter Frels
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility:
High school seniors
Must plan to attend college in the fall of 2024
Requirements:
4 Letters of Recommendation (2 teachers from Junior-Senior year and 2 community members)

Coastal Bend College Scholarship
Award Amount: Varies
Eligibility:
Must attach a typed, 2 double spaced, one page essay
Attach a typed, double-spaced, one page essay describing your education and career goals
Attach 2 letters of recommendation from, for example, your principal, teacher, counselor, or clergy
Attach an official copy of your high school transcript or college transcript(s)
Deadline: April 1, 2024

J.W. Jerkins Memorial
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility:
Must be a current member of the Bee County Farm Bureau
Must be a high school senior
Must have copies of high school transcript and list of accomplishments
Must have two letters of recommendation from Instructor/Teacher
Must have future plans in one of trades:
Agricultural Science & Technology, Automotive/Technology, Building & Construction Trades, Business Education, Welding, Drafting & Design, Home Economics, and Marketing Education
Deadline: Please return application to the Barnhart office by March 29, or the Bee County Farm Bureau by March 31.

Bee County Farm Bureau: Ag Major Scholarship
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility:
Parents or guardian must be a Bee County Farm Bureau member in good standing for at least one year.
Applicant must be a graduating senior of high school in Bee County (ACJ ones, Petus, Skidmore-Tynan)
Applicants can be pursuing an Ag major.
Scholarship amount is $500. First semester $250 will be awarded upon proof of registration. The second half of the award, $250 will be issued upon proof of passing grades and second semester registration.
Applications must be post marked no later than March 31, 2024
Please print or type the answers. All signatures must be written in ink. You may use as many extra sheets of paper as you wish, but remember brevity shows an organized
mind. Selection of the winner will be based on academic excellence, class placement
and well-rounded interests. Try to tell us about yourself as if you are telling us in

James N. Owings Memorial Scholarship

The Prudential Emerging Visionaries

Be between the ages of 14-18 when applying and not older than 18 by the end of the entry period November 2nd, 2023

The Joe Barnhart Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility: ·
Must have been a participant in good standing with the Barnhart Scholarship Program
Must have been admitted to an institution of higher learning that accepts federal student aid
Must have completed the appropriate forms for this aid- FAFSA
Must show evidence that he/she has sought to find financial assistance for his/her educational expenses-a total of 16 scholarship applications must be completed; this includes the general scholarship application to the college or university of choice and scholarships provide in the Barnhart office
