Eligibility:

  • 9th-12th graders who are impacted by cancer and live in the U.S.

  • Essay length must not exceed 1,500 words

  • Not eligible: poems, essays about a pet, or fiction

  • Essays must be original content of the author and in their own voice

  • Cash prizes of $1,000 will be awarded to the winners (winners will be asked to fill out a IRS W-9 form)

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation.

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)

  • Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)

  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

Science Without Borders Scholarship

Science Without Borders Scholarship

Award Amount: $500, $350, $200

Eligibility:

This international art competition is open to all students 11-19 years old. Students must be enrolled in primary or secondary school, or the home school equivalent. College and university students are not eligible for this contest.

Work will be judged in two categories based on age, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes awarded for each:

  • Students 11-14 years old

  • Students 15-19 years old

  • Submissions must be made online. Email submissions are not permitted.

  • All artwork must be an original work by the contestant and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Do not copy an idea from a past participants’ work.

  • Do not submit artwork to the Science Without Borders® Challenge that you have entered into another art competition.

  • The artwork must be 2D such as a painting or drawing. Acceptable media includes paint, pencil, marker, crayon, ink, felt, and oil pastel. Using magazines, newspapers, or other non-original work is also not permitted. Digitally created artwork, including photographs, are not accepted.

  • There are no minimum or maximum size requirements for the artwork.

  • Participants may submit only 1 art piece.

Women’s Cyber Security Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000-$5,000

Eligibility:

  • Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field.

  • You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate student, graduate or post graduate student to be eligible.”

  • GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).

  • You may be a citizen of any country (US citizenship not required).

  • May be attending on campus or online.

  • May be attending full-time or part-time

  • May be attending in the US or Internationally

  • You do not currently need to be enrolled, however no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

  • Must have applied to or be enrolled as a full-time student in a college or university, including 2-year colleges, or vocational schools that lead to an associate’s degree. Graduate students must have applied to or be enrolled as a part-time student in a college or university.

  • A student will not be eligible for a scholarship if he/she is related to a scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council

Award Amount: $12,500 per year

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be dependent children of full-time employees in the financial services industry (commercial banks, investment banks, securities brokerage firms, insurance companies, fund and asset management companies, credit card and finance companies and similar businesses as determined by the Foundation).

  • Employees must be presently employed with five years of experience OR no longer employed in this field but had ten years of experience which ended no longer than five years prior to the GAR Scholarship application closing date (which is located on the top of the application).

  • Students must be graduating high school seniors who are enrolling as full time first year students in pursuit of a four-year bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university in the United States.
