The Burger King Scholars Program

Award Amount: $1,000 - $4,000

Eligibility:

  • Be living in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada

  • Be graduating high school seniors (U.S., Puerto Rico, and Guam), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada

  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent

  • Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire 2024-25 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school or CEGEP or equivalent in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada

The GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship

The GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: $40,000 ($10,000 per year)

Eligibility: To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

  • demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.

  • demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent).

  • be citizens of the United States of America.

  • be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and

  • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

Award Amount: $2,000, $1,000

Eligibility:

  • Graduating senior of A.C. Jones High School

  • Ranked upper third (1/3) of his/her graduating class

  • The applicant must enroll in either a college or university within the confines of the state of Texas and participate in a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree.

  • Applicant must indicate choice of major and career planned.

  • Please include ACT and/or SAT test scores.  If you did not take an ACT or SAT, please write an explanation why you didn’t take one.

Award Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:

  •  The contest is open to high school seniors.

  • Herrman & Herrman encourages creativity and innovation. In our 2023 scholarship program, we want to recognize five innovative students and three teachers who foster creativity in students.

  • To enter the scholarship contest, students should submit a creative entry via Tik Tok, Instagram, or YouTube (CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS) addressing one of the following topics:

    •       Explain a family, social, or school situation in which your leadership made the difference. What was accomplished?

    •       Select a character from pop culture (book, TV series, movie etc.) that you relate to or admire and explain why.

    •       Tell us about a life hack that you wish more people knew about.

    •       What does “Innovation” mean to you? Explain how you plan to use “Innovation” in the future to make an impact on the world through your career or academics.

    •       Tell us about a time that you had to be brave or stand up for what you believed in.

    •       Create a video that shows a special bond you have with an animal.

  • Qualifiable Family Income: $55,760.00

    o   (3) your most important goals in life and explain how this scholarship might help you achieve those goals.

San Patricio Electric

Award Amount: $5,000

Eligibility:

  • The applicant’s parent or legal guardian must be an active member of SPEC and receive electric service at the primary address of the student and parent/guardian.

  • Applicants must be high school seniors graduating from a high school or homeschool program located within one of the nine counties served by SPEC.

  • Applicants must be of good character, as evidenced by at least three letters of recommendation from the high school they are currently attending or homeschool equivalent.

  • Applicants must provide an official transcript from the school or homeschool program they are currently attending.

  • Scholarships are granted to support attendance at a recognized institution of higher education, which could include a college, university, vocational or technical school.

Stars Scholarship Fund

Stars Scholarship Fund

Award Amount: Varies

Eligibility:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

  • Be a permanent resident (5 or more consecutive years) of and have a permanent South or West Texas address in one of our 30 counties.

  • Have earned/completed at least 12 undergraduate credit hours at a U.S. accredited college or university before applying for the scholarship (Dual and Advanced Placement credits accepted.).

  • Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Have completed a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to the Fall of the new academic year.

  • Are enrolled in a U.S. accredited 2 yr. community college (enrolled part-time or full-time) in a degree-seeking program, or a 4yr. university undergraduate program (enrolled full-time) seeking a Bachelor’s Degree, or a university graduate program (enrolled full-time) seeking a Master’s, Law or Doctorate degree

LULAC National Scholarship Fund

Award Amount: $250-$2,000

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

  • Must have applied to or be enrolled as a full-time student in a college or university, including 2-year colleges, or vocational schools that lead to an associate’s degree. Graduate students must have applied to or be enrolled as a part-time student in a college or university.

  • A student will not be eligible for a scholarship if he/she is related to a scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council

  • Locations: In 2023-24, sixty-two (64) LULAC Councils participated from the following: Arizona, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin.

  • Graduating senior in the school year 2023-2024 or a student already enrolled in a Texas Trade School or College or an individual with a high school diploma or GED pursuing a Trade or Certification in Texas

  • Planning to attend an accredited trade, technical or vocational school in Texas

  • To maintain eligibility for scholarship benefits beyond the initial award, an overall passing grade in all classes
